The online retail industry is a fiercely competitive place, and particularly at this time of the year, we are all bombarded with adverts everywhere we look. Sometimes it’s easy to buy from the big guys, maybe they can offer you the biggest discount – but think about what the small businesses can offer you…
Project X Adventures is a growing family run business. Will (my brother) writes most of the product descriptions that you read on our website. Katie (my sister) writes most of our blog posts and looks after our social media. We are also lucky to have support from our parents and friends like Dan, Adam, Rich, James, Anthony and Chris that have helped to build the business that we have today.
We try to balance our pricing to make sure that we are competitive online, but don’t undermine the brands and independent bricks and mortar shops that we love.
Black Friday has become a tradition where consumers expect to get massive discounts, but my view is at what cost.
We can’t compete in the same way and we are not going to try to.
We will have some discounts available from now until 31st December, but these will be limited to the people that have helped us to build – that’s you – our customers, our newsletter subscribers and our social media followers.
