George discovered his love for travelling back in 2006, when he travelled to Italy with a small UK Contingent and attended the European Scout event, Roverway. Since then he has led a number of European Scout Expeditions for his Explorer Scout Unit, 1st Harwell Explorer Scout Unit. He has also held several County roles for Oxfordshire Scouting including Activities Manager for several annual event, Assistant County Commissioner (Explorer Scouts) and more recently has been supporting the work of the County Duke of Edinburgh Award Advisor. He has also worked in Tanzania as a Expedition Management Research Assistant and organised sixth form mountaineering expeditions to Ecuador and India with UK providers for his previous employer.
George is always happiest when covered in oil/diesel/petrol and tinkering around with his Land Rover Defender or when working as a pit mechanic for the 2CV Racing team, Rosie Racing.
